The Village of Antonesti

This is a typical Moldovan house.

The people grow all of the food that they eat!

This is a view of the main street of Antonesti, notice that it is paved.

This is the Cultural Center where the people were given Communist propaganda just 20 years ago.  Now this building has a disco every Saturday and Sunday.  The people get very drunk.  I had to pass this every night on my way to my host's home.

The Orthodox Church

This is the wonderful family who took care of me and the 4 BFA girls.  This is Peter and Lena with their daughter Dona.  They also have 3 other sons.  We stayed in Peter's brother's house.  His brother is in the USA working.  Peter shared his testimony with us through one of the girls who speaks Russian.  While she translated, he shared how he was very sick and his parents took him to  two different fortune tellers who said he would die.  And then Peter's aunt gave him a copy of the Bible.  He read about how Jesus healed people and told his mother that nobody beside Jesus would be able to heal him.  Through that Peter and his mother became Believers.  His father and brothers still do not know the Lord.

They did have a good internet connection.

There was a flushing toilet, but it broke before we got there.

The sink was very nice.  The tub did  not have a lot of water pressure.

This is the street to the home we stayed in.

Luckily there was a sidewalk, so we could sort of avoid the mud.

Moving our suitcases in the mud was a challenge.

But we succeeded!
