Apparently you are never to old for Show and Tell. We did show and tell for our Dorm Fellowship.
R decided that she would show her lucky soccer underwear off! She said that when she wears these she wins, but she washed them...so that is why the JV lost!! Yucky. R is the goalie.
APRIL FOOLS!!! Actually that was a joke...she found those underwear in the dorm! She showed her cute teddy bear she has had all of her life.
New adventures are just around the corner as I move from living in a dorm of 22 high school girls to a dorm of 102 college women!

Home Soccer Games Against Patch
BFA plays all of their games against US military bases. This game was against Patch which is a division 1 school while we are a division 2 school. So it was not surprising when the Varsity and JV Girls lost. The Varsity boys tied and the JV boys won!! March 26th was the hottest it has ever been on record in Germany!
Palmgarten has 5 girls on the JV team. We cheered hard and loud for our girls!
The stands were full of BFA fans.
But some fans got tired and even took a nap.
These are both my girls1!! Go K & R!!!
R gives the ball a good kick.
K chases after the ball and uses her footwork.

Campfire with HBR
HBR is a boys dorm that is about 4 kilometers away from Palmgarten. The guys made a wonderful fire so we could roast marshmallows and make smores! Yum! And I think some of the girls might think some of the guys are cute...so that is always a bonus.
This weekend we received a new student. She is the girl in the middle with the brown jacket on. Her family was deported from the country they were living in (in the Middle East). BFA is a safe place for her to go to school since her school was closed down.
Just chillin' by the fireside.
Making smores is a priority!

It's a Lovely Day for a Walk
It has been unseasonably warm here in Germany. On Saturday March 26, we decided to go on a walk...or a hike.
Off we go, ready to tackle anything.
The hike is a bit steeper than some girls bargained for.
Luckily we packed a picnic lunch.
We finally made it to the top!
Walking down hill among the apple orchards was so much easier.
A few of us thought we would take the longer path home.
M and I are amazing hikers!
Look Dad! Deer in Germany! Woopsey they are fenced in and tame!
Spring is officially here since the flowers are here!
The Mouse That Roared
"The Mouse That Roared" was preformed on March 18 &19, 2011. Below is an overview of the play.
Tully (guy in green) the the head forester of Grand Fenwick (GF). It is a tiny European country that is 3 x 5 miles big. He is excited he has tourists!
The only export of GF is wine. The grape stomper tells Tully he is wanted in the throne room.
Princess Gloriana rules GF with the help of her unlce Mountjoy (left) and David Bentor (right), a man of the people. Wine makers in California are making an imitation of the GF wine and GF is going to be bankrupt soon. The only way to avoid this is to declare war on the United States so they will rehabilitate GF.
The Sec. of State and her secretary recieve the declaration of war by GF against the US.
The GF page reads the Declaration of War against the United States of America.
Meanwhile in Columbia University in NY City, the Professor and her staff are working on make the Quadium Bomb. It is very dangerous and unstable.
The professor speaks with the head General of the US military and his staff.
The professor then shares the secret formula of Quadium with the Sec. of Stater, President, and General while at Columbia University.
In GF there is a air raid scare when they hear an airplane overhead, but it is the American Airlines flight from Rome to Paris. The US had not done anything about the declaration of war.
Princess Glory send Tully and the GF army to attack the US. The army is armed with longbows and arrows. She gives him her scarf as a favor to keep him safe.
The GF soldiers come into NY City and they happen upon the Q-Bomb at Columbia University. Suddenly GF has a lot of power!
The professor's staff is shocked when they think they see and hear arrows being fired at their heads.
NY City is quite large and the soldiers are in awe of such a huge place.
Tully and his army take the Q-Bomb and the General and his staff as prisoners of war.
NY City tourists walk by and enjoy the sights, but don't think the General's cry for help is serious.
In Washington DC the president and his staff examine some of the damage the GF army has done.
Tully and his men bring the Q-Bomb and the POWs back to their home country, GF.
Meanwhile in GF, the people anxiously wait for the men to return. They are expecting defeat so that the US will rehabilitate them.
But Tully has defeated the US and he even has a bomb that the princess will examine and POWs.
The tourist from the beginning of the play are suddenly famous because they have actually been to GF. They are on an American talk show.
Mountjoy, the princess' uncle, realized that in the princess marries Tully, he will not be so powerful and will be under his control. The two men hatch a plan to marry Tully and Glory. Glory eventually agrees to go into the forest to find Tully and ask him to marry her.
In the forest Glory meets Tully's mom. She asks his mom to help her propose to Tulley. She secretly loves Tully, but does he love her?
He does love her and is so excited about the engagement that he hugs his mother and shakes hands with Glory.
Back in the throne room the president has sent his Sec. of State to sue for peace. After some negotiations, it looks like peace is possible.
The General's staff, as POWs, have made friends with the peasants of GF. They enjoy stomping on grapes with the people of GF and have purple feet!
Tully and Glory announce their engagement. It is a happy day in GF.
The curtain call was a sight to behold and took 3 solid minutes for the cast to come out on stage. Great work!

Getting Ready for the Play
To get 29 middle school students ready for a play with hair, makeup, and costumes...it literally took and army and 2 1/2 hours!
Heather Powers, (in black) was the director. This is her third play and she was an amazing director and friend to work with. What a privilege to be involved.
I was able to use my makeup skills...well sort of. Here I am putting a mustache or "stach" on the middle aged Grand Fenwickian, Benter.
My job during the play was to be ready with lines in cast the students forgot...but they were amazing and I barely had to help anyone out!!

Princess Gloriana gets her hair done by Arina
Anna was in charge of makeup...she is the master at aging these young ones.
